iPhone, YouPhone.

We all phone for iPhone! Supposedly, early next your, Apple is going to release the iPhone which is, you guessed it! A mobile cell phone! Rumors run rampant and rabid in the computer world about this phone. Pictured on the left is Tech Digest's take on it. You can see many other peoples ideas of how it would look it in this blog. In France, there was a big bannanaza about the iPhone details supposedly leaked.

Think Secret had this to say about the "upcoming" iPhone:

"...Apple is counting its first phone will stir the U.S. market and enjoy the same buzz that Motorola's RAZR and LG's Chocolate phone have. To that end, Apple will pack several high-end features into its phone, including a 3-megapixel camera, 2.2-inch display, and complete iTunes/iPod features and integration, sources with direct connections to the company's plans report.

Unlike Motorola's iTunes phones, Apple's phone will not feature a 100 song limit. Instead, the number of music and photos that can be packed into the phone will only be limited by its storage capacity, although at present sources have been unable to confirm what that will be..."
You can see this article here.

As for myself, I think whatever Apple makes will be cool and, granted it doesn't cost too much, I will be getting one as soon as it's out. Case closed.

"Transforming" Optimus Keyboard

Here I am, posting again! Yeah! It's about another awesome keyboard too!

Ever wanted a keyboard that could do anything*? And not just do anything but look it too? Look no further. The "Transforming" Optimus 103 Keyboard is THE keyboard. It's also one of the coolest I have ever seen!

"Every key of the Optimus keyboard is a stand-alone display showing exactly what it is controlling at this very moment."

"Optimus is good for any layouts—Cyrillic, Ancient Greek, Georgian, Arabic—and so on to infinity: notes, numerals, special symbols, HTML codes, mathematical functions."

You make your keyboard show commands for Quake, Photoshop and about everything else too!

Check out their website here! The Price? About $400-ish...

Optimus has another smaller keyboard thingy that was recommended to me by a fellow blogger, James (See "A Friends Website" in links section). This one is already out and is much smaller but it still has the look-changing features that the Optimus 103 has! Check it out here!

*Okay, so it can't do everything, it can do a whole lot more than today's keyboards though!

Virtual Laser Keyboard... Sci-Fi?

I'm on a roll! Good for me! (Alright, enough of this "self blogging pride"!)

Admit it, you've imagined a virtual projected keyboard sometime in your life. It's always been a day-dreamy fantasy. But now, it is changed, now, It is reality! Check it out!

According to the site:
"About the size of a small cellular phone, (90 x 34 x 24 mm), the VKB enables users to type texts or e-mails as easily as with a ordinary keyboard. Imagine how easy it would be, if you had a proper mobile phone keyboard that fits in your pocket..."

The price? $179.99. Not too bad, don't you think?

A mouse that thinks it's a hovercraft

Here I am, posting again! (I should keep it up...)

"Floating mice? No way!" Have you ever heard of a floating mouse? Me neither. It's a cool idea though. According the It's website:

"The CrazyPC Hover Mouse is the world's first 100% friction-less mouse. Utilizing advanced, patent-pending electromagnetic hovering technology, the Hover Mouse floats one centimeter above the mousing surface at all times. It is a well established fact, that friction results in wear to your mouse and decreased accuracy while gaming. Since the Hover Mouse is friction-less wear is eliminated, and in-game accuracy sky rockets. Be the first on your block to own a Hover Mouse! Ideal for all gamers or for those suffering from arthritis! "

It only costs $75! Wow! What a bargain! (Actually, It isn't as much as I thought it would be) Chech ite oute. Also, you can read CNET's take on it here.

Long time no post...

The Gadget today happens to be a very useful one! Have to ever wanted a handy rocket launched to keep other peoples away from your computer? Look no further... than the USB air dart launcher! According to a website:

You’ll have “hours of fun” annoying the person next to you with these USB air darts. It’s powered through any USB port and compatible with PC/Mac systems. You control the aim and firing mechanisms using your mouse.

Sounds pretty cool to me. I should get me one of those... Check out a movie of it in action here!

Old Gadget: Sony Walkman TPS-L2 (1979)

I made a mistake! I should have put the greatest classic gadget ever (Not to mention the first gadget ever!) as my first post! Of course! The Sony Walkman TPS-L2! The Gadget that started them all... The One and Only.

"Portable music players are so cheap and ubiquitous today that it's hard to remember when they were luxury items, widely coveted and often stolen. But when the blue and silver Walkman debuted in 1979, no one had ever seen anything quite like it. The $200 player virtually invented the concept of 'personal electronics.' "

Are you all set to get one yet? No? How about this:

"Apparently fearful that consumers would consider the Walkman too antisocial, Sony built the first units with two headphone jacks so you could share music with a friend. The company later dropped this feature."

(I wonder why!) Now you want to get one, right? "Nah! Why would I want to get one of those when I could get a 2GB flash-based, slick, black iPod Nano with a screen for the same price?" Why else? To sell on eBay and get a 60GB iPod instead! (Of course!) Stay iTuned!

Strange Gadget: The Roll-Up Keyboard

Here is a strange gadget to start off with! The Roll-Up Keyboard!

"These keyboards feature 104 keys in a standard QWERTY layout, but with a nifty twist of being the most portable keyboard seen to date. Simply roll the unit up when you're done with it! A great tool for laptop users who miss their full-sized KB when on the road, or LAN party warriors looking to lighten their load."

I think it looks pretty cool, though strange. Here are some more specs for it:

  • Rolls-up for easy storage and portability
  • Dust and moisture proof
  • Standard 104-key keyboard
  • Choose from PS/2 only or both USB & PS/2 connectivity
  • Lifetime of approximately 15,000,000 keystrokes!

  • What do you say? Roll-up keyboard anyone? Actually I think it would be cool to have one! (I mean, who wouldn't want to have a keyboard that you can fold up and put in your pocket?)

    So it begins...

Here we have thee very first post on this brand new blog!!! Are you impressed? Well. Stay tuned. Cool Gadgets to come!
